Doing it the old-fashioned way....

After much prayers and soul-searching I have decided NOT to have weight-loss surgery on Monday.   My wonderful hubby and I agreed that the risks are just not worth it for me. I have told my doctor that I would still like to have the lap band removed due to the complications.

This means I will continue on my journey the old-fashioned way, through exercise, tracking my calories intake, and following a low-carb diet.  I hope and pray that I have made the right decision.

  5. I'd have to read back and see what sort of complications you were/are having with the band, but I just had mine out on December 30. I feel so much better and am able to eat tons of fruits and veggies, which was impossible before. However, it is a DAILY struggle not to gain weight. I'm up almost 10 pounds from my removal date but compared to what lots of other people gain after removal, I think that's not so bad. I'm trying to keep it under control and exercising more. I believe we can do it, it's not impossible!
