I grew up on breakfasts consisting of carb heavy pancakes, cereals, pastries & breads, bacon/sausage eggs. Not good choices for a family where diabetes runs rampant.
Following my failed LapBand surgery I began reading more blogs with great tips suggesting healthier options. Today my breakfasts consist of protein smoothies with fresh berries or veggie omelets. Veggies could include anything from leftover asparagus,kale,spinach, or tomato. Sometimes I add leftover chicken,turkey,fish or seafood. I usually combine 1 egg & 2 egg whites. We buy free range local eggs whenever possible.
Big change from those high carb, high fat breakfasts of my younger days :)
